6. Using the Semmelweis Scanner
The Semmelweis Scanner is a hand hygiene monitoring device, to be used as described below.
6.1. Handrub mode
The user must rub hands with a special fluorescent training rub, following the given protocols
for hand disinfection. The on-screen information on the device helps you.
Log in using your RFID card
and follow the instructions of
Eric Ermine.
Eric introduces itself and calls
the user by name (if not
available, just says “Hello!”).
Rub your hands as per the
required protocol (e.g., WHO 6-
steps protocol).
Place your rubbed
right
hand
with split fingers into the
Semmelweis Scanner, following
the instructions on the screen.
After inserting your hand, place
your palm to fit into the shown
outline as proper as possible. Do
not move it until the green check
mark appears after the countdown.
Once the image has been recorded,
withdraw your right hand.
