1. Turn the hand wheel to
bring the
needle down to it’s lowest
position
and continue to bring the
needle up and stop about 6mm
above the needle plate. It would be
the distance of where the presser
foot would be when raised. Since
the needle plate is off you will have
to estimate the 6mm above the
plate.
2. Lay the machine down and
push up on the link
body
while turning the hand wheel. As you do this
the thread cutter will move. Stop when
t
he thread
cutter hole is in the center needle position
(where
the needle would normally come down).
In this
position there should be 4mm from the hole to the
static cutter blade edge as shown below.

3. If the static cutter is not in the correct
position then loosen the two Philip's head
screws and adjust the static cutter into the
correct position.
Note: the second step
of the step gauge is 4mm and so is the
first line from the left end.
