To use the bobbin-thread cutter
The infinity will cut the bobbin thread for you following a tieoff. It cuts the bobbin thread at the needle
plate, leaving sufficient bobbin thread for the next time you bring the bobbin thread to the top of the quilt
for quilting. You will need to trim the needle thread following a tieoff.
ONLINE: To see how to perform a bobbin-thread cut, watch the video Using the Bobbin Thread
Cutter at: http://www.handiquilter.com/videos/hq-infinity/232/.
• Tie off your quilt stitches and press the bobbin-thread cutter button on the Main screen. If the
needle is in the down position, it is raised to the up position before the thread is cut. You’ll hear a
slight beep to let you know the thread has been cut.
NOTE: If you configured either the star or diamond button on the handlebars to do a bobbin-thread
cut, you can also press that button on the handlebars. For more information about configuring the
handlebar buttons, see To customize the handlebar buttons i n t h e Toolbar Options section of
t h i s m an u al .
NOTE: If you want a bobbin thread tail that is longer than one inch, move the machine away from
your tieoff stitches before pressing the bobbin-thread cut button. The thread tail will match the
distance you moved the machine from the tieoff stitches.
NOTE: You will still need to trim the bobbin thread tails when you remove the quilt from the frame.
The length of the thread tail is determined by how far you move your machine between tying off
the stitching and doing the bobbin thread cut.
