Safety instructions
During installation, gloves must be worn to prevent crushing injuries or cuts.
There are basic risks when handling electrically operated devices. Please
therefore follow legal health and safety guidelines, any other applicable
occupational health and safety rules and provisions set out by the relevant
professional associations.
Do not make any changes to the Pontos Base. The manufacturer is not liable for
damages resulting from inappropriate alterations.
During installation, please note the stipulated values for the voltage and current
(see Specifications).
Works on electrical installations or controls must only be performed by qualified
electricians.
Unplug the mains adapter and remove the batteries before commencing work.
Check the mains adapter on a regular basis and inform a qualified electrician
in the event of damage.
General information
• These operating instructions will enable you to use your Pontos Base safely and
efficiently.
• They are included in the scope of delivery and must be stored in a place where
the user can access them at all times.
• As technology develops, images and descriptions in these operating instructions
may differ slightly from the actual Pontos Base leakage protection delivered to
you.
• We assume no liability for damages caused by disregarding these operating
instructions.
• Installation, maintenance and repairs must only be performed by trained,
authorised specialists. In other words, people who are qualified as a result of

read the operating instructions.
• The transmitter / receiver unit operates in the ISM band (2.4 GHz). Installation
near devices assigned to the same channel (Wi-Fi devices, RF components, etc.)
must be avoided.
• If operated in an unsuitable environment, for example in buildings or rooms with
reinforced concrete walls, steel and iron frames or near metal obstacles such as
furniture, the wireless reception may be disrupted or stopped. It may be
necessary to connect a Wi-Fi repeater to the main router to increase the
wireless signal range.
• The product must always be updated to the latest firmware to ensure seamless
functionality.
The following European and German standards were used to develop and
construct the Pontos Base:
• DIN EN 806
• DIN 1988
• DIN 3553
Hansgrohe SE hereby declares that the Pontos Base wireless unit type complies
with Directive 2014/53/EU. The full text of the EU Declaration of Conformity can

Explanation of symbols
Maintenance
• We recommend a maintenance interval of 2 years.
• Maintenance should be performed on the turbine, input filter screen, cable
harnesses and stop valve.
• Visual inspection of the cable harnesses (cable kinked? Correctly inserted?)
• Check turbine and stop valve:
Select “Away” profile (e.g. with 10 litre limit value) and tap the water. If the stop
valve closes after 10 litres, the turbine and stop valve are working seamlessly.
• Check input filter screen
Shut off and depressurise drinking water installation. Disconnect from main
power supply. Completely undo the screws on the housing. Remove the Pontos
Base. Check the input filter screen. If necessary, remove it and rinse it out with
clean water (replace if necessary). Put it back together in the reverse order.
Slowly reopen the drinking water supply.
• The battery must be replaced after two years at the latest. Do not use recharge-
able batteries.
