Cleaning the interior
CAUTION
Danger of explosion!
Improper handling of the appliance
can lead to defl agration or explosion!
■
Never use defrosting sprays. They can
generate explosive gases.
■
Do not use any means other than
those recommended by the manufac-
turer to speed up defrosting. For ex-
ample, do not use any electric heat-
ing equipment, knives or devices with
an open fl ame such as a candle. The
thermal insulation and the interior
walls are scratch- and heat-sensitive
and can melt.
Preparation
To ensure the frozen goods have a cold re-
serve and do not defrost as quickly, activate
‘Quick freezing’ at least 3 hours before clean-
ing (see “Quick freezing” on page EN-16).
Cleaning the inside of the appliance
1. Disconnect the mains plug from the sock-
et.
The appliance is switched off.
2. Remove food from the drawers.
3. Ensure that your food is kept cool
enough. If you do not have another freez-
er in which to store the frozen food, wrap
it thickly in newspaper and store it in a
cool room or insulated bag.
4. Open the flap trays (7); remove the ice
cube tray, the drawers (4), (5) and (6) as
well as the glass shelves (2).
Cleaning
1. Clean all parts in lukewarm soapy water.
Then dry everything thoroughly.
2. Wipe the interior with warm rinsing water.
3. When wiping clean, add a few drops of
vinegar to the water to prevent mould
from forming.
4. Wipe the interior dry and leave the door
open a while to air.
5. Clean the door seals with clean water
only; they are sensitive to oil and fat.
6. Wipe everything dry, including the door
deal, and leave the door open for a while
to air.
Using the appliance again
1. Reinsert the ice cube tray, the draw-
ers (4), (5) and (6) as well as the glass
shelves (2). Then close the flap trays (7).
2. Insert the mains plug into the socket.
The appliance is switched on.
3. Switch on ‘Quick freezing’ (see “Quick
freezing” on page EN-16) to quickly cool
the inside of the appliance.
4. Return the frozen food to the freezer.
Switch off ‘Quick freezing’ as soon as the
freezer reaches a temperature of
−
18 °C.
5. Set the desired freezing temperature (see
“Setting the freezing temperature” on
page EN-16).
If you use the appliance in cooling
mode, switch on the ‘Quick refrigera-
tion’ function before
fi
lling the appli-
ance in order to quickly cool down the inside
of the appliance. Once the inside of the
appliance is suf
fi
ciently cooled, switch off
‘Quick refrigeration’ and select the cooling
temperature you want.
