Removing cold water and ice
Page EN-27
In order to produce crushed ice, the ice cubes
are chopped into chunks of only a few milli-
metres. This occurs within a grinding mech-
anism located inside the ice cube container.
Cold water, crushed ice and ice cubes pass
through the ice dispenser and are dispensed
via the ice/cold water outlet.
Using the ice maker
The production of ice cubes and crushed ice
creates noise. The water vent hums. Water
flows into the ice tray. The grinding mecha-
nism grinds ice cubes. Finished ice cubes fall
into the ice cube container. These noises are
normal.
When ice cubes are dispensed, there may be
loud cracking noises. This is also not a cause
for concern.
It is possible that ice cubes have stuck to-
gether in the ice cube container (15). In this
case:
1. Remove the ice maker.
2. Divide the fused ice cubes, for example
by carefully pushing on them with a plas-
tic or wooden spoon.
3. Remove ice cube clumps.
4. Divide the ice cubes evenly in the ice
cube container.
Other options are described in section “Clean-
ing the ice cube container” on page EN-32.
In order to avoid overheating the ice maker’s
motor, the dispensing of ice will stop after
about 1 minute. In this case, wait a moment
until the motor has returned to operating tem-
perature. If you need a larger quantity of ice
cubes, take them directly from the ice cube
container instead. Section “Cleaning the ice
cube container” on page EN-32 describes how
to remove the ice cube container from the
freezer.
If there are not enough ice cubes in the ice
cube container, it may not be possible to dis-
pense any ice. If this is the case, please wait
until fresh ice cubes are produced.
In order to prevent unpleasant odours or fla-
vours from developing in the ice cubes, clean
the ice cube container on a regular basis.
You can dispense water and ice only
when the doors are closed. The appli-
ance will automatically stop dispensing
water or ice when you open one of the doors.
If the , or signal does not appear on
the display, press the DISPENSER button
(26) once. The signal will appear on the dis-
play.

the ice maker, you need to prepare the appli-
ance as follows:
