Before getting started
– Read the chapter "Safety" from on
page EN-4 and all safety instructions.
– Set up and connect the appliance as de-
scribed in chapter "Start-up" from on
page EN-27.
Switching the appliance on
and off
NOTICE
Risk of damage!
If the cooling unit has been transport-
ed horizontally, lubricant from the com-
pressor may get into the cooling circuit.

Allow the appliance to stand upright
for approx. 2 hours after transport
and before connecting.
Risk of damage!
Improper handling of the appliance
can lead to damage to property.
■
The interior light must only be used
to illuminate the interior of the appli-
ance. It is not suitable for lighting a
room.
Switching on
1. Insert the mains plug into an easily acces-
sible socket (220–240 V~ / 50 Hz).
– On the control panel the temperature
displays (16) and (17) will light up.
– When you open one of the appliance
doors, the interior of the appliance is lit
up.
– The compressor starts to work, the re-
frigerant flows through the pipes and a
quiet humming sound can be heard. The
appliance is switched on.
2. If the appliance is making unusual noises,
check that it is stable and remove any ob-
jects that may be on top of it.
Operation
Switching off
1. Disconnect the mains plug from the socket.
– The signals on the control panel disap-
pear.
– When you open one of the appliance
doors, the lights inside the appliance (1)
remain switched off.
– The compressor is switched off. The ap-
pliance doesn’t refrigerate.
2. Empty the appliance and clean it (see
"Care and maintenance" on page EN-24).
3. Leave the appliance doors slightly open
to prevent mould from forming.

The fridge-freezer is protected against un-
intentional changes in settings. The symbol
LOCK
lights up on the display. If any button is
pressed you will hear a beeping sound and
the display
LOCK
(21) will flash. The control
panel is locked.
Unlocking
• Press and hold the LOCK/UNLOCK but-
ton (20) for 3 seconds.
The symbol
lights up and a beep
sounds. The control panel buttons are now
released.
Locking
• Press and hold the LOCK/UNLOCK but-
ton (20) for 3 seconds.
You will hear a beeping sound and the
symbol
LOCK
will appear on the display.
If no button is pressed for 25 seconds,
the control panel will lock automatically.
