Setting the temperature
The temperature is set using the temperature controller. The cool-
ing power is continuously adjustable from ‘MIN’ to ‘MAX’ (lowest
temperature).
First select a medium setting. The ideal storage temperature is
-18°C. If the ambient temperature increases (e.g. in summer), use
a higher setting if necessary. Turn off your appliance if you do not
want to use it for an extended period.
1. Pull out the mains plug to switch off the freezer. Attention! The
freezer cannot be switched off using the temperature control-
ler.
2. Empty the freezer, let it defrost and clean it. (see chapter ‘Care
and maintenance’)
3. Leave the door open slightly to avoid mould formation in the
interior.
Freezer drawers
If there is not enough space for your frozen goods in the freezer
drawers, you can remove the freezer drawers and store the frozen
goods directly on the cold plates.
1. Pull the freezer drawer out until it stops.
2. Lift the front of the freezer drawer slightly and then pull it out
completely.
CAUTION
Health hazard!
Contaminated foods can cause health problems.
• Opening the door for long periods can cause a sig-
nificant increase of the temperature in the compart-
ments of the appliance.
• Clean regularly surfaces that can come in contact
with food and accessible drainage systems.
• Two-star frozen-food compartments are suitable for
storing pre-frozen food, storing or making ice-cream
and making ice cubes.
• One-, two- and three-star compartments are not suit-
able for the freezing of fresh food.
• If the refrigerating appliance is left empty for long
periods, switch off, defrost, clean, dry, and leave
the door open to prevent mould developing within
the appliance.
