CAUTION
Health hazard!
Consuming spoiled food can cause food
poisoning.
• In particular, pack raw meat and fish
carefully to ensure that adjacent food
cannot be contaminated with salmo-
nella or similar bacteria.
• Do not exceed the storage times for
the different types of food as recom-
mended by the food manufacturers.
Keep to the storage temperatures in-
dicated on the packaging.
CAUTION
Health hazard!
Contaminated food can cause health
problems.
• Opening the door for long periods can
cause a significant increase of the
temperature in the compartments of
the appliance.
• Clean regularly surfaces that can
come in contact with food and acces-
sible drainage systems.
• Store raw meat and fish in suitable
containers in the refrigerator, so that it
does not come into contact with or drip
onto other food.
• If the refrigerating appliance is left
empty for long periods, switch off, de-
frost, clean, dry, and leave the door
open to prevent mould developing
within the appliance.
NOTICE
Risk of damage!
Improper handling of the combination
fridge-freezer may lead to damage.
• Do not store more than 10 kg of chilled
goods in the fridge drawer.
To maintain the flavour and freshness of food
in the fridge, place only packaged food in the
fridge. Use special plastic containers for food or
customary films.
• To achieve the most efficient energy use for
your appliance, combine the drawers, glass
shelves and door shelves as shown in the
figure on page EN-10.
• A temperature setting that is too high or too
low can reduce the shelf life of your food.
This leads to greater food waste.
• Set the temperature in the fridge to +6 °C
and fill the fridge compartment in such a
way that the temperature conditions inside
are optimally utilised, guaranteeing optimal
food storage.
• The following tips show you how you can
store foods in your appliance to keep them
in the best possible condition over the long-
est possible period. This will mean that you
avoid food waste:
– Allow hot food to cool before placing it in the
fridge.
– Place the food
–
in the fridge in a way that allows the air to
circulate freely. Do not cover the shelves
with paper or anything similar.
– somewhere that is not directly against the
rear wall. Otherwise it may freeze onto
the rear wall.
– Place a fridge thermometer on a glass shelf
above a crisper compartment so that you
can check the correct temperature. Around
6 °C is optimal.
– Fruit/vegetables: Place fresh fruit and veg-
etables in the crisper compartments. High
humidity keeps fruit and vegetables fresh for
longer.
– The coldest place is the glass shelf above
the crisper compartments. This is good for
fresh meat, game, poultry, bacon, sausage
and raw fish.
– Place cooked/baked goods on the glass
shelves.
