Finding and fixing faults
Use this table to check if you can correct the fault yourself.
WARNING
Risk of electric shock and injury!
Improper repairs to a defective combination fridge-freezer endanger both the per-
son carrying out the repairs and the user.
• Allow only authorised specialists to repair the combination fridge-freezer. If in
doubt, contact our service department (see ‘Service’ on page EN-28).
• Only carry out the actions which are described in this user manual.

Compressor and
interior lighting
off.
Socket has no power.
Check by connecting another appliance.
Mains plug is not tight.
Check the tightness of the mains plug.
Compressor is
not running, inte-
rior lighting on.
Desired temperature has been
reached.
Further cooling not required. When the inside
temperature rises, the compressor automatically
turns on.
C o m b i n a t i o n
fridge-freezer is
cooling too much.
Incorrect temperature setting.
Selected cooling level is too high.
Select a lower level of cooling.
Fridge-freezer
is not cooling
enough.
Incorrect temperature selected. Select a higher level of cooling.
Door not tightly closed or door
seal is not completely tight.
See ‘Checking and cleaning door seals’.
Combination fridge-freezer is
near a heat source.
Put an insulation panel between the combination
fridge-freezer and the heat source, or change the
location.
Food was not cooled.
Only put in cooled foods.
Too many goods added at once. The maximum freezing capacity in the event of a
fault is shown on the appliance’s type plate.
Ambient temperature too low or
too high.
Adjust the ambient temperature (see ‘Intended
use’ on page EN-4)
Compressor seems defective.
Select the highest level of cooling (–24 °C). If the
compressor does not switch on within an hour,
please contact our service department.
C o m b i n a t i o n
f r i d g e - f r e e z e r
makes noises.
Operating noises are part of nor-
mal operation and are not a sign
of malfunction.
Noise – refrigeration unit is running.
Flow noise – refrigerant is flowing through the
pipes.
Clicking – Motor switching on or off.
Disturbing noises.
Check that it is stable.
Remove objects from the combination
fridge-freezer.
Remove foreign bodies from the back and leave
sufficient spacing to the wall.
Interior light does
not work.
LED bulb is defective.
