NOTICE
Risk of damage!
If your refrigerator has been transported on its side for
an extended time, lubricant from the compressor may
have got into the refrigeration circuit.
• In this case, leave the refrigerator in its normal po-
sition for about 12 hours before switching it on. This
allows the lubricant enough time to flow back into the
compressor.
1. Clean every part of the refrigerator before turning it on for the
first time (see „Care and maintenance“ on page 20).
2. Dry the refrigerator thoroughly afterwards.
3. Insert the shelves
5
,
6
and
7
at the desired heights.
4. Insert the mains plug into a properly installed socket
(220–240 V, 50 Hz, 10 A).
5. Let the appliance get cold before storing food. To do this, set
the temperature controller
3
to ‘7’.
The lighting is now switched on and the compressor will start
up after a brief period.
6. Put the food to be refrigerated in fridge compartment. Then
close the door.
7. Frozen goods can also be stored in the freezer compartment
once the temperature reaches -18°C (check with a fridge/
freezer thermometer).
CAUTION
Risk of injury!
Skin can be injured if it comes into contact with the icy
walls in the freezer compartment or the frozen goods.
• Therefore, never touch these parts with wet hands.
There is a risk of injury even if your skin is dry.
• If necessary, use a dry cloth to pick up the frozen
food.
8. Fresh food may be stored when the temperature reaches
-22°C. The temperature in the freezer compartment will rise
temporarily when fresh food is placed in it.
9. After 24 hours, the goods are frozen to the core. Set the tem-
perature controller
3
to the recommended setting of ‘3-4’.
