Cleaning the oven
Pyrolytic self-cleaning
CAUTION
Risk of burns!
During the pyrolytic self-cleaning pro-
cess, the exterior of the appliance also
becomes very hot.
■
Do not touch the oven door, and even
after the self-cleaning process is com-
plete wait until the appliance has
cooled off.
■
Keep children away.
Fire hazard!
Loose food residue, grease and meat
juices can ignite during the pyrolytic
self-cleaning process.
■
Remove large bits of food or oth-
er contaminants from the cooking
compartment before each pyrolytic
self-cleaning process.
■
If there is a hob installed over the
oven, switch off all cooking zones/hot
plates.
Health hazard!
The very high temperatures of pyroly-
sis can release fumes from residues of
food and cleaning agents that irritate
the mucous membranes.
■
Make sure there is good ventilation
before and after the pyrolysis. Open
the windows and keep the doors to
adjacent rooms closed.
■
Keep children away from the oven
during the pyrolysis and take them to
a well-ventilated room.
■
Do not stay in the room over a longer
period of time.
■
Never clean non-stick baking trays
and moulds in the pyrolytic self-clean-
ing process.
Unlike humans, some birds and reptiles
can react very strongly to the fumes re-
leased.
■
Animals, and birds in particular,
should be kept in a well-ventilated
room while pyrolysis is underway.
Small animals in particular are sensitive
to the local fl uctuations in temperature
caused by pyrolysis.
■
Keep animals away from the oven.
Ideally, they should be brought to a
room as far away as possible. Always
keep the doors to this room shut.
NOTICE
Risk of damage!
Only pyrolysis-proof items may stay in
the cooking compartment during pyrol-
ysis.
■
Remove the oven rack, baking tray,
dripping pan, baking tray guides and
oven telescopic runners from the
cooking compartment.
■
Empty out the cooking compartment.
During the pyrolytic self-cleaning pro-
cess, the interior of the appliance be-
comes very hot.
■
Following the pyrolytic self-cleaning
process, do not disconnect the appli-
ance from the mains for at least one
hour to allow the blower to cool down
the interior of the appliance in a con-
trolled manner.
