5. Wipe down the inside with warm water

6. Clean the opening of the thaw water
drain (4) using the supplied cleaning
swab.
7. Only clean the door seals with clean wa-

Defrosting and cleaning the
freezer compartment
WARNING
Danger of explosion!
Improper handling of the appliance
may lead to defl agration/explosion!
■
Never use defrosting sprays. They can
generate explosive gases.
NOTICE
■
Defrost the appliance in a timely
manner, before it forms a layer of ice
and frost of more than 5 mm. Exces-
sive ice formation increases power
consumption and prevents the door
from closing tightly.
■
Do not use any means other than
those recommended by the manufac-
turer to speed up defrosting. For ex-
ample, do not use any electric heat-
ing equipment, knives or devices with
an open fl ame such as a candle. The
thermal insulation and the interior
are scratch and heat-sensitive and
can melt.
When cleaning, please note:
■
Never use harsh, granular, so-
da-based, solvent-based or abrasive
cleaners. We recommend all-purpose
cleaners with a neutral pH.
■
The door seal is sensitive to oil and
grease - the rubber becomes porous
and brittle as a result.
■
The door seals can be damaged by
unsuitable cleaning agents. Use care
products only on the outer surfaces.
■
Use only soft cloths for cleaning.
If possible, defrost the appliance in
winter when the outside temperature
is low. You can then store the food on the
balcony (or similar) while defrosting.
Alternatively, you can wrap up the frozen food
in a thick layer of newspaper and store it in a
cool room or insulated bag.
