Before getting started
– Read chapter “Safety” on page EN-4, in
particular the safety instructions.
– Set up and connect the refrigerator as de-

Commissioning the appliance
NOTICE
Risk of damage to property!
If the cooling unit has been transport-
ed horizontally, lubricant from the com-
pressor may get into the cooling circuit.
■
If possible, do not tilt the cooling ap-
pliance horizontally.
■
Allow the cooling unit to stand up-
right for two hours before starting
up the appliance. This gives the lubri-
cant time to fl ow back into the com-
pressor.
• Switch off the fuse for the mains socket to
which the refrigerator is connected.

The temperature controller (7) can be used to
switch the appliance on and off. The tempera-
ture controller is on the right wall in the fridge
compartment and is infinitely adjustable.
Operation
Switching on
1. Set the temperature controller (7) to a set-
ting of between “1” and “7”.
The appliance is then switched on. The
compressor starts to work, the refrigerant
flows through the pipes, and a quiet hum-
ming sound can be heard.
2. If the refrigerator makes disturbing noises
after it is switched on, check that it is in a
stable position and correctly installed.
Switching off
1. Set the temperature controller (7) to ‘0’.
The compressor is switched off. The appli-
ance doesn’t refrigerate.
2. Empty the appliance and clean it (see
“Care and maintenance” on page EN-18).
Setting the temperature
WARNING
Health hazard!
The appliance may not operate proper-
ly if exposed to low ambient tempera-
tures for extended periods of time. This
can then lead to an increase in temper-
ature inside the appliance.
■
Always ensure the prescribed ambi-
ent temperature is maintained (see
“Intended use” on page EN-4).
Using the temperature controller (7), you can
set the temperature in the fridge and freezer
compartments.
• First select a medium setting.
• If, for example in summer, the ambient
temperature increases, so select a lower
setting accordingly.
