Risks in handling household
electrical appliances
Warning
Risk of electric shock!
Touching live parts may result in severe
injury or death.
• Only use the appliance indoors. Do
not use in damp environments or in
the rain.
• Do not operate or continue to operate
the appliance if
– it shows visible signs of damage, e.g.
the connection cable is defective,
– it starts smoking or there is a burn-
ing smell,
– it makes unfamiliar noises.
Should this occur, remove the mains
plug or unscrew/isolate the fuse and
contact our service department „Our
service“ on page 26.
• This is a class 1 electrical appli-
ance and may be connected only to
a properly earthed socket.
Do not connect to a power strip, mul-
tiple socket outlet, timer or to a sepa-
rate remote-controlled system for dis-
tance monitoring and control.
• If the mains plug is no longer ac-
cessible after installation, an all-pole
disconnecting device complying with
overvoltage category III must be con-
nected to the house wiring with a con-
tact gap of at least 3 mm; this includes
fuses, circuit breakers and contactors.
• Lay the mains cord so that it does not
pose a tripping hazard.
• Do not kink or pinch the mains cord or
lay it over sharp edges.
• When positioning the appliance, en-
sure the supply cord is not trapped or
damaged.

The signal word indicates a hazard
with high risk that, if not avoided, re-
sults in death or a severe injury.
WARNING
This signal word designates a hazard
with a moderate degree of risk which
may lead to death or severe injury if
not avoided.
CAUTION
This signal word designates hazard
with low risk which may result in minor
or moderate injury if not avoided.
NOTICE
This signal word warns against poten-
tial damages to property.
