Information
CAUTION
Health hazard!
Incorrect handling, insufficient cooling or overlapping
items can spoil the stored food. Consuming spoiled
food poses a risk of food poisoning.
• After a power failure, check whether the food in stor-
age is still palatable. Use defrosted food immediately.
• During a power cut keep food as cold as possible.
• In particular, pack raw meat and fish carefully to en-
sure that adjacent food cannot be contaminated with
salmonella or similar bacteria.
• Never exceed the storage times for the food recom-
mended by the food manufacturers.
• Never refreeze thawed or defrosted food.
The freezer may not function properly if it is exposed
for an prolonged period of time to temperatures that
are colder than the lowest temperature for which it was
designed. This can then lead to an increase in temper-
ature inside the freezer.
• Ensure that the ambient temperatures indicated in
chapter ‘Technical data’ (see back cover) are com-
plied with.
Consuming very cold drinks or food poses a health risk.
• Ensure that you do not consume products that are too
cold (e.g. ice water).
CAUTION
Health hazard!
Contaminated foods can cause health problems.
• Opening the door for long periods can cause a signifi-
cant increase of the temperature in the compartments
of the appliance.
• Clean regularly surfaces that can come in contact with
food and accessible drainage systems.
• Two-star frozen-food compartments are suitable for
storing pre-frozen food, storing or making ice-cream
and making ice cubes.
• One-, two- and three-star compartments are not suit-
able for the freezing of fresh food.
• If the refrigerating appliance is left empty for long pe-
riods, switch off, defrost, clean, dry, and leave the
door open to prevent mould developing within the
appliance.
