Setting the freezing
temperature
WARNING
Health hazard!
The appliance may not operate proper-
ly if exposed to low ambient tempera-
tures for extended periods of time. This
can then lead to an increase in temper-
ature in the fridge and freezer.
■
Always ensure the prescribed ambi-
ent temperature is maintained (see
“Intended use” on page EN-4).
The temperature range for the freezing mode
is between –14 °C and –24 °C. The ideal
freezer temperature is –18 °C.
If, for example in summer, the temperature
increases, select a lower temperature setting
accordingly.
• Press the button (10) as often as required
until the desired temperature setting illu-
minates. The temperature is reduced in a
series of predefined steps.
If you set a lower temperature, you will
need a higher cooling performance.
This increases the energy consump-
tion.
Quick freezing
Select the “Quick freezing” function to create
a cold reserve inside the appliance. A cold
reserve will let you cool the appliance before
storing food or freezing fresh food.
• To activate the “Quick freezing” function,
press the button (10) for 3 seconds.
The display (11) will illuminate; the tem-
perature setting will change to –24 °C.
The “Quick freezing” function is activated.
The function will switch off automatically
after 52 hours, and the temperature will re-
turn to the last setting used.
• To deactivate the “Quick freezing” func-
tion, press the button (10) again.
The display (11) will go out; the tempera-
ture will return to the last setting used.
The “Quick freezing” function is deactivat-
ed.
Keep fresh goods out of contact with existing
frozen foods, as the latter could start to thaw.
If contact with stored food cannot be avoided,
we recommend that you create a cold reserve
in the freezer before freezing the fresh goods.
Freezing food
Freezing means reducing the core tempera-
ture of fresh, room-temperature food to fro-
zen as quickly as possible – for best results
“flash-frozen”. If not cooled quickly enough,
the food will be “killed by frost”, i.e. the struc-
ture will be destroyed.
Freezing food has a positive effect on its
shelf life. This will help to avoid food waste.
A constant storage temperature is needed to
maintain the food’s consistency, taste and nu-
tritional value.
Set the temperature in the freezer to –18 °C.
In this way, you can ensure that the temper-
ature conditions inside are optimally utilised,
guaranteeing optimal food storage.
