NOTICE
Risk of damage to property!
Improper handling of the appliance
can lead to property damage.
■
Defrost the appliance in a time-
ly manner before it forms a layer of
ice and frost of more than 5 mm. Ex-
cessive ice formation increases pow-
er consumption and the lid may no
longer close tightly.
■
Do not use mechanical devices or oth-
er means to accelerate the defrost-
ing process, other than those recom-
mended by the manufacturer.
Preparation
• Activate the “Super” mode at least three
hours before cleaning. This way, the fro-
zen food gets a cold reserve and does not
defrost as quickly.
Defrosting
If possible, defrost the appliance in
winter when the outside temperature is
low. You can then store the food on the bal-
cony (or similar) while defrosting.
Alternatively, you can wrap up the frozen food
in a thick layer of newspaper and store it in a
cool room or insulated bag.
1. Disconnect the mains plug from the socket.
2. Remove the frozen food and ensure that
your food stays adequately cooled.
3. Remove the drawers (6). Clean them with
warm, fresh water.

4. Twist the exterior stopper (16) of the con-
densate drain (5) until the arrow is pointing
down, and then pull it out slightly. There
is an outlet opening where the arrow is
positioned.
5. Place a bowl or cloth in front of the con-
densate drain to catch any emerging wa-
ter.
6. Unscrew the interior stopper of the con-
densate drain (17).
7. Place a bowl of hot, but not boiling, water
in the appliance interior. This will acceler-
ate the defrosting process.
8. Carefully scrape off any stubborn ice with
the supplied ice scraper.
9. Leave the lid open during defrosting. The
defrosting time depends on the thickness
of the ice layer. Experience suggests that
cleaning can be started after about one
hour.
