Setting up and aligning the
chest freezer
1. Place the chest freezer on a base that is
as flat and firm as possible.
2. Check the position with a spirit level.
3. Level out any unevenness on the ground
using both of the front levelling screws. To
do this
– close the lid.
– tilt the chest freezer slightly to the right.
– twist the levelling screws in or out until
the chest freezer is vertically level and
set the chest freezer straight back down
again.
4. Check the alignment with a spirit level.
When opening the lid, the chest freezer
should not shift.
Connecting the chest freezer
WARNING
Risk of electric shock!
Touching live parts may result in severe
injury or death.

Only use the appliance indoors. Do
not use in wet rooms or in the rain.
■
Do not operate or continue to oper-
ate the appliance, if it
–
shows visible signs of damage, e.g.
the mains cable is defective,
–
starts smoking or there is a smell of
burning,
–
makes unfamiliar noises.
In such cases, remove the mains plug
from the socket or unscrew/switch off
the fuse and contact our service de-
partment (see page EN-25).

Do not connect to a timer or a sepa-
rate remote-controlled system for dis-
tance monitoring and control.
■
Since all poles of the appliance can-
not be disconnected from the mains
via an accessible disconnecting de-
vice, an all-pole disconnecting device
in accordance with overvoltage cate-
gory III must be connected within the
house installation with at least 3 mm
contact clearance; consult a qualifi ed
professional if necessary (see page
EN-25).

Do not kink or pinch the supply cord
or lay it over sharp edges. This can re-
sult in a break in the cable.
NOTICE
Risk of damage!
The coolant must be allowed to settle
before connecting.

After transport leave the appliance to
stand for 2 hours.
• Connect the mains plug to a properly
installed socket (see "Technical spec-
ifications" on page EN-28). The Power
indicator (7) illuminates.
