3. If the appliance is switched off, leave the
door open slightly to avoid mould forma-
tion.
Setting the temperature
CAUTION
Health hazard!
The appliance may not operate proper-
ly if exposed to low ambient tempera-
tures for extended periods of time. The
temperature may increase in the fridge
and freezer which may cause the foods
stored within to spoil more quickly.
■
Always ensure the prescribed ambi-
ent temperature is maintained (see
“Intended use” on page EN-4).
Using the temperature controller (1), you can
set the temperature in the fridge and freezer.
• First select a medium setting.
• If, for example in summer, the ambient
temperature increases, so select a lower
setting accordingly.
• In order to increase the refrigeration out-
put in the fridge and freezer, turn the tem-
perature controller (1) towards “7”.
• To decrease it, turn the temperature con-
troller (1) towards “1”.
You ideally need two refrigerator/freezer ther-
mometers to be able to control the refrigera-
tion output.
Place one in the fridge above the fruit/vegeta-
ble drawer (6) and one in the freezer.
The correct temperature in the fridge is +6 °C.
The ideal storage temperature in the freezer
is –18 °C. This can be achieved by setting the
temperature controller (1) to “4”.
• In any case, use the refrigerator/freezer
thermometers to determine the actual
temperature.
Before getting started
• Read chapter “Safety” from page EN-4
and all the safety notices.
• Set up and connect the appliance as
described in chapter “Start-up” from
page EN-11.
Switching the appliance on
and off
1
(1)
The temperature controller (1) can be used
to switch the appliance on and off. It can be
found at the top of the fridge.
Switching on
1. Set the temperature controller (1) to a set-
ting of between “1” and “7”.
The appliance is then switched on. The
compressor starts to work, the refriger-
ant flows through the pipes and a quiet
humming sound can be heard. The inte-
rior light (2) will turn on when you open
the door; it will switch off when the door is
closed.
2. If the appliance makes unusual noises,
check that it is on a solid base and re-
move any objects that are on top of the
appliance.
Switching off
1. Set the temperature controller (1) to “0”.
The compressor is switched off. The ap-
pliance doesn’t refrigerate. The interior
light (2) is still switched on.
2. To switch the appliance off completely,
pull out the mains plug.
