Before getting started
• Read chapter “Safety” from page EN-4, in
particular the safety instructions.
• Set up and connect the appliance as
described in chapter “Start-up” from
page EN-23.
Switching the appliance on
and off
NOTICE
Risk of damage!
If the cooling unit has been transport-
ed horizontally, lubricant from the com-
pressor may get into the cooling circuit.
■
Allow the appliance to stand upright
for approx. 2 hours after transport
and before connecting.

(13)
The temperature controller (13) is also used
to switch the appliance on and off. It is at the
top in the fridge.
Switching on
1. Set the temperature controller (13) to a
setting of between “1” and “7”.
– On the control panel the temperature
displays will light up.
– The interior lighting (1) will switch on.
– The compressor will begin to work.
– The refrigerant will flow through the
pipes, and you will be able to hear a qui-
et humming sound.
The interior lighting will turn on when
you open the door; it will switch off
when the door is closed.
2. If the appliance is making unusual noises,
check that it is stable and remove any ob-
jects that may be on top of it.
Switching off
1. Set the temperature controller (13) to “0”.
The compressor is switched off. The appli-
ance doesn’t refrigerate. The interior light-
ing continues to function.
2. To switch the appliance off completely,
pull the mains plug out of the socket.
3. If the appliance is switched off, leave the
doors open slightly to avoid mould forma-
tion.
Setting the temperature
CAUTION
Health hazard!
The appliance may not operate proper-
ly if exposed to low ambient tempera-
tures for extended periods of time. The
temperature may increase in the fridge
and freezer which may cause the foods
stored within to spoil more quickly.
■
Always ensure the prescribed ambi-
ent temperature is maintained (see
“Intended use” on page EN-4).
If you set a lower temperature, you will
need a higher cooling performance.
This increases the energy consump-
tion.
Using the temperature controller (13), you
can set the temperature in the fridge and
freezer.
• First select a medium setting.
• If, for example in summer, the ambient
temperature increases, so select a lower
setting accordingly.
