Information
• Direct contact with the frozen food poses a risk of ice
burns. Therefore, do not put ice cubes or ice lollies
straight into your mouth from the freezer.
• Bases, drawers, doors, etc. must not be used as steps
or for support purposes. You could be injured.
CAUTION
Health hazard!
Contaminated foods can cause health problems.
• Opening the door for long periods can cause a signifi-
cant increase of the temperature in the compartments
of the appliance.
• Clean regularly surfaces that can come in contact with
food and accessible drainage systems.
• Store raw meat and fish in suitable containers in the
refrigerator, so that it is not in contact with or drip onto
other food.
• Two-star frozen-food compartments are suitable for
storing pre-frozen food, storing or making ice-cream
and making ice cubes.
• One-, two- and three-star compartments are not suit-
able for the freezing of fresh food.
• If the refrigerating appliance is left empty for long pe-
riods, switch off, defrost, clean, dry, and leave the
door open to prevent mould developing within the
appliance.
CAUTION
Health hazard!
If the appliance is switched off or there is a mains fail-
ure, the contents of the refrigerator and the freezer
compartment will no longer be sufficiently chilled. The
stored food can go bad, thaw or defrost. This could lead
to a risk of food poisoning.
• After a possible power failure, check whether the food
in storage is still palatable. Use defrosted food imme-
diately.
• During a power cut keep food as cold as possible.
• In particular, pack raw meat and fish carefully to en-
sure that adjacent food cannot be contaminated with
salmonella or similar bacteria.
• Never exceed the storage times for the food recom-
mended by the food manufacturers.
• Never refreeze thawed or defrosted food.
