Chilling food
– Store preserves, jars, and eggs on the
lower large door shelf (3), the small door
shelf (4), or on the bottle racks (5). Eggs
are best placed in the supplied egg tray.
– Place drinks cartons and bottles on the
bottle racks (5). Position full containers
closer to the hinge in order to reduce the
door load.
– Place tightly sealed bottles on the bottle
racks (5) or place them lying down on
the flexible wine rack (11).
– Store cooked and baked foods on the
glass shelves (10).
– Store fresh fruit and vegetables in the
“Fruit & Vegetables” drawer (7).
– Place fresh meat, game, poultry, bacon,
sausage, and raw fish in the “Fish &
Meat” drawer (8). This is where the tem-
perature is lowest.
– Only store strong alcohol standing up-
right and tightly closed.
– Allow hot food to cool before placing it in
the fridge.
The temperatures within the appli-
ance and, therefore, its energy con-
sumption may increase if the appli-
ance door is frequently opened or
kept open for long periods, or if the
ambient temperature exceeds the
stipulated minimum or maximum
levels (see the chapter on “Inten-
ded use”).
Maintaining quality
To maintain the flavour and freshness of
food in the fridge compartment, only place
packaged food in the fridge compartment.
Use special plastic containers for food or
standard food wrap.
– Place the food
– in the refrigerator in a way that allows
the air to circulate freely. Do not
cover the shelves with paper or any-
thing similar.
– somewhere that is not directly against
the rear wall. Otherwise it may freeze
to the back wall.
