Troubleshooting table
Malfunctions can occur in any electrical appliance. This does not necessarily mean that
there is a defect in the appliance. Therefore, please check whether or not you can correct
the fault using the table.

Touching live parts may result in severe injury or death.

Never try to repair the appliance yourself. This could endanger yourself and sub-
sequent users. Only authorised specialists may carry out such repairs.

Compressor off,
interior light off.
No electricity to socket.
Check the socket with another appliance.
Mains plug is loose.
Check that the mains plug is firmly inserted.
Compressor off,
interior light on.
Desired temperature has
been reached.
Further cooling not required. If the internal
temperature rises, the compressor switches
on automatically.
Appliance cools
too quickly.
Temperature has been
set too low.
Select higher setting (see the chapter on “Set-
ting the temperature”).
The appliance
doesn’t cool suffi-
ciently.
Temperature has been
set too high.
Select a lower setting (see the chapter on
“Setting the temperature”).
Appliance door not
tightly closed or door
seal is not completely
tight.
See the chapter on “Checking and cleaning
the door seals”.
The appliance is near a
heat source.
Place insulation plate between the appliances,
or change location.
Food has been stored
warm.
Only store cooled foods.
Ambient temperature too
low or too high.
Adapt the ambient temperature to the climate
category (see the chapter on “Intended use”).
Compressor seems de-
fective.
Activate “Quick refrigerating”. If the com-
pressor isn’t switching on, please contact our
Service department.
Appliance is mak-
ing a noise.
Operating noises are
functional and are not a
sign of malfunction.
Humming: Refrigeration unit is running.
Flowing noise: Refrigerant is flowing through
the pipes.
Clicking: Compressor is switching on or off.
Disturbing noises.
Check that it is stable.
Remove any objects from the appliance.
Remove any foreign matter from the back of
the appliance.
