Troubleshooting table
Malfunctions can occur in all electrical appliances. This does not necessarily mean that there is
a defect in the appliance. Therefore, please check whether or not you can correct the fault using
the table.

Risk of electric shock in case of improper repair!
Never attempt to repair the faulty – or supposedly faulty – appliance yourself. You
can endanger yourself and subsequent users. Only authorised specialists may carry
out repairs.

Compressor off,
appliance not re-
frigerating.
No electricity to socket.
Check by connecting another appliance.
Mains plug is loose.
Check the tightness of the mains plug.
Compressor off,
appliance is cool
inside.
Desired temperature has
been reached.
Further cooling not required. When the in-
side temperature rises, the compressor au-
tomatically switches on.
Appliance cools
too quickly.
Thermostat control is set at
too cold a setting.
Turn down the temperature controller (see
„Cooling“ on page GB-11).
The appliance
doesn’t cool suffi-
ciently.
Incorrect temperature select-
ed.
Turn the temperature controller to a higher
position (see „Cooling“ on page GB-11).
Door not tightly closed or
door seal is not completely
tight.
See „Checking and cleaning door seals“ on
page GB-13.
The appliance is near a heat
source.
Insert insulating plate in-between or relo-
cate.
Food has been put in warm. Only put in cooled foods.
Too many goods loaded.
Load no more than 7 kg at once.
Ambient temperature too low
or too high.
Adjust ambient temperature to climate cate-
gory (see data sheet starting on page GB-24).
Compressor seems defec-
tive.
Set the temperature controller to “5”. If the
compressor does not switch on within an
hour, please contact our service centre (see
page GB-22).
