For your safety
■
Do not extend or amend the power cord.
■
Do not kink, clamp or pull the power cord
over sharp edges. The consequence may
be the cable breaking and / or damage
to the insulation.
■
If the mains connection line of this de-
vice is damaged, it must be replaced by
the manufacturer, its After Sales Support
service or a similarly qualifi ed person in
order to prevent risks.
■
Only use the appliance indoors and nev-
er operate it in damp rooms or expose it
to rain.
■
Never repair a defective or suspected de-
fective appliance yourself. You can put
your own and future users’ lives in dan-
ger. Only authorised specialists are al-
lowed to carry out this repair work.
■
Do not operate the hob with an external
timer or a separate remote control sys-
tem.
■
Do not put any objects in or through the
housing openings, and also make sure
that children cannot insert any objects
in them.
■
Never open the housing.
■
Do not continue to cook if there are
cracks in the glass ceramic hob. Water
that runs through cracks inside the glass
ceramic hob may be live! If there are
cracks in your glass ceramic hob, discon-
nect it from the power supply (remove
the fuse) to prevent a possible electric
shock and call our service department
see „Our Customer Service“ on page
GB-24)

WARNING
The appliance will become hot during op-
eration. If you touch parts which are hot,
you could burn yourself on them!

The cooking zones get very hot during
operation and will remain hot after they
are switched off; this is shown by the re-
sidual heat indicator.
If a power failure occurs, the residual
heat indicator will go out and may not
indicate the presence of residual heat!
■
Do not leave the appliance unattended
during use.
■
Keep children away from the hob.
■
Never sit on the hob.
■
Allow the appliance to cool off com-
pletely before beginning to clean it.

Hazard for persons with pacemakers.

If you have a pacemaker or other electri-
cal implant such as an insulin pump, you
should stay away from induction hobs
and discuss the use of an induction hob
with your doctor fi rst.
Acrylamide may be carcinogenic. Acryla-
mide is produced when starch is exposed
to excessive heat, e.g. in potatoes (fries,
chips), biscuits, toast, bread etc.

Keep cooking times as short as possible.
■
Only brown the food slightly, do not al-
low it to brown too much.
■
When frying potatoes using raw potato
discs or frying potato fritters in a frying
pan, it is better to use margarine (with
a minimum fat content of 80 %) or oil
with a little margarine instead of pure
oil.

(for example, people with disabilities to
some extent, older persons with impaired
physical and mental abilities) or who lack
experience and knowledge (for example
older children).

This hob can be used by children aged
eight years and above and by persons
with reduced physical, sensory, or men-
tal abilities, or who lack experience and
knowledge, if they are supervised or
