Cooking zones and sensors
3. Use the slider to set the cooking zone/
area’s heat setting.
To do this, glide your finger over the slider
until the desired heat setting is displayed.

= cooking zone/area is switched off

A few seconds after you remove your fin-
ger, the heat setting display starts to flash
and the heating process begins.
Switching off
1. Touch the sensor of the cooking zone/
area that you would like to switch off.
2. Touch the slider at the left end or swipe
your finger left over the slider until the
heat setting display ‘
0
’ appears.
After a few seconds, the heat setting dis-
play changes to ‘
H
‘ or ‘– –’.
CAUTION
Risk of burns!

Always switch off a cooking zone/
area using the sensors only; never
by removing the cookware from the
cooking zone/area. Otherwise the
cooking zone/area will be reactivated
as soon as a pot or other object made
of ferromagnetic metal is placed on
top.
■
Do not place objects on cooking
zones/areas that are not switched
off. There is a risk that the cooking
zone/area could be activated and the
object heated.
Changing the heat setting
You can change the heat setting while the ap-
pliance is in operation.
1. Briefly tap the slider one time when the
heat setting for the desired cooking zone/
area is permanently illuminated.

2. Use the slider to set the cooking zone or
area’s heat setting.
To do this, glide your finger over the slider
until the desired heat setting is displayed.

Using the flex zone as one
connected cooking area
The left half of the hob consists of a cook-
ing area intended for the use of large pots or
roasting pans. You can use this surface
– as two cooking areas. They are also oper-
ated like the round cooking zones
– as one connected cooking zone. Please
observe the correct positioning of the cook-
ware:
– Always place the cookware in the middle
of the cooking area.
– For oval or rectangular roasting pans,
ensure that they cover the centre of the
cooking area.
– The cookware should cover at least ¾
of the cooking area. It is not advisable
to place a round pot in the centre of a
cooking area.

1. Touch the flex zone sensor (10).
The heat setting display (12) shows the
current value, the heat setting display (11)
only shows two horizontal dashes.
2. Set the desired heat output using the slid-
er (12).
