Frame
No normal maintenance is required, but if the welds or scratches need attention, first
remove any rust, dirt, or grease and coat with gloss black touch up paint. There is a
receiver located on the rear bumper. This receiver is designed for light weight cargo with
the load positioned close to the receiver and bumper. The HC1 has a GWR of 3500.
Coupler
Your coupler needs no adjusting or maintenance other than periodic oiling to ensure
smooth operation. The HC1 uses a coupler that receives a 2” ball. Set the hitch height of
the tow vehicle so that the trailer is being pulled in a horizontal position. The height 15" is
the optimal height after the tongue weight is resting on the hitch. Trailers must be towed
as level as possible for proper handling and weight distribution. Be surveyor hitch is
connected securely to the ball, and that the pin in secured in your fold away tongue.
Attaching the Trailer to the Tow Vehicle
Position the receiver over the ball, and lift the tab handle of the hitch upward as you lower
the jack. After the ball is seated, allow the handle to return back down, parallel to the
frame.
Stabilizers
All trailers are equipped with lightweight 17” stabilizer jacks. Use the provided crank to
quickly stabilize the trailer from the rear . Their high-strength design allows for increased
load stabilization and fine leveling. Use in conjunction with the front wheel jack.
HC1 Assembly
100% Fiberglass Shell
The HC1 shell is made of 100% double-hull fiberglass. This includes the honeycomb floor
and both interior and exterior molded shells.
Fiberglass Maintenance
Fiberglass should be maintained on a regular basis. So just how regular is regular? In
order to answer that question we have to ask what kind of exposure to the elements the
vehicle receives. If the vehicle is kept dry and inside a garage away from the elements,
then exposure is minimal and the fiberglass can be maintained about every 6 months or so
with great results. However, if the vehicle is kept out in the elements under constant
exposure, then regular maintenance should be done every 3 months without fail. Without
regular care and maintenance, fiberglass will begin to show signs of oxidizing in 4 to 12
months.
Choose a wax suitable for fiberglass, like Protect All, Polish, Wax and Treatment with UV
Protectant. Regardless of the product you select, be sure to follow the application
instructions to ensure that you get the best results and all the benefits that the product
has to offer. Youtube.com is a great resource for videos on fiberglass maintenance.
