IT’S TIME FOR SANITISATION - What happens to my ZERO?

COMPLETE PROCEDURE OF SANITISATION/DECALCIFICATION /

FILTER CHANGE..

STAFF NOTE

ZERO invites you to carry out the sanitisation/descaling and filter change procedure every 1500 L, or every 6

months or if the ZERO system has not been used for 1 week or more.
The next few steps may seem tedious or long; in reality it was more difficult to write them in this manual than

to actually carry them out. In any case ZERO will accompany you through these phases, step by step. It is

very important that you strictly follow the instructions below.
The first stage of the procedure is to make sure that the sanitising/descaling powder arrives throughout the

circuit and the second part is used to rinse your ZERO well. Shall we begin?

WHAT DO YOU NEED?

> PACK KIT for sanitising/descaling and filter change (p. 21).
> 1 WATER CONTAINER OF AT LEAST 3L (we recommend a pot).
> 1 SUPPORT BASE for the container (we recommend using a kitchen cutting board).

WARNINGS:

> if you are not ready (Kit available and a 3L container) do not press

the button to perform the procedure.

> in case of CONNECTION TO THE WATER MAINS CLOSE THE “T”

VALVE (see page 21).

ZERO DISPLAY STATE:

> The magenta button with the “cleaning filter” symbol is on. This

means that it is time for sanitisation and filter change.

USER ACTIVITY:

> Press the magenta icon for 5 seconds to start the sanitisation

procedure.

1

ZERO ZERO DISPLAY STATUS:

> The magenta button with the “cleaning filter” symbol remains on;

> The orange light with the crossed filter symbol has come on and is

intermittent;

> The water supply buttons go out.

USER ACTIVITY:

> Remove the external tank and the used filter by turning it anti-

clockwise by approximately 90° until it is released, then lift it.

2

If this light has come on it is a

SANITISATION/DECALCIFICATION time

ZERO DISPLAY STATE:

> The magenta button with the cleaning filter symbol remains on;

> The orange light with the crossed filter symbol remains on and is

intermittent;

> The red water level light is on.

USER ACTIVITY:

> Put the external tank back in place with the sanitiser dissolved

in the water;

> Place under the water dispenser (above the drip tray) a

suitable container (min. 3 litres).

NOTE:

to keep the container flat,

use a support, for example

a kitchen cutting board.

RECOMMENDATION:

 in case of particularly hard/calcareous

water, there may be some difficulty in rotating the filter.

In this case, we advise you to try using a nutcracker or a set

of pliers by pressing on the secure grip fins.

“Good, you have removed the used filter.

DO NOT

 INSERT THE NEW FILTER IMMEDIATELY.

 Zero will inform

you when to do so (see point 15). Let’s continue with the sanitisation procedure”.

USER ACTIVITY:

> Fill the external tank with tap water up to the level;

> Open the sanitising sachet and pour it into the external

previously filled tank;

> Use a spoon
