SelfSteer (optional)
With SelfSteer then slow down the sprayer at headland and make a turn.
Maximum allowed turn (A) is 70 degrees. Be aware of the of the speed
when doing sharp turns. See more about “Driving technique for
SelfSteer” on page 43.
SelfSteer with SlopeCorrection has same function as above, but when
driving on slopes some correction to stay in the tramline may be useful.
Activate the tractor’s hydraulic control lever to steer out the sprayer to
an offset (B) until the sprayer stays in tramline when spraying.
Driving technique for SelfSteer
A trailer with SelfSteer behaves differently than a normal trailer. In
tracking position the vehicle centre of gravity is displaced more outward
compared to the vehicle centre line of a normal trailer. Compared to a
conventional trailer a steered trailer has decreased stability when
turning, especially when turning on hillsides (B).
To avoid overbalancing, pay attention to these guidelines:
1.
Avoid sudden, tight turns.
2.
Slow down before entering a curve or turning, and drive with a
constant, low speed during the turn.
3.
Never slow down too fast, never brake heavily and never stop
suddenly in a curve, or when turning on a hillside, when the
sprayer is articulated.
4.
Be careful when turning on uneven ground.
5.
Set the track width (A) as wide as possible.
6.
The proper function of the hydraulic system is essential to obtain good stability.
