Rescue plan:
When using this equipment, the user must have a rescue plan and the resources to hand to implement it.
The plan must be communicated to authorized persons and rescuers. The system and trolley integrity must
be assessed prior to any rescue for the safest and quickest recovery. In rescue situations, the rail section
involved in the operator fall, must not be used by rescuers but a separate personal protection system should
be used.
After a fall, replacing equipment:
WARNING!
Any trolley which has been subjected to the forces of arresting a fall must be immediately withdrawn from
use and not used again until confirmed in writing by and authorized Harken INCAR3-TR Trolley Inspector
that it is acceptable for use.
8. PRELIMINARY AND PERIODICAL INSPECTIONS
Before each use
Before using the INCAR3-TR trolley, check its condition and visually check each component as indicated
in the manufacturer’s instructions.
The following are Harken specific inspection procedures (see image chapter
(1)
):
A. Inspect shackle
Inspect shackle for signs of corrosion, cracks or elongation. Check the free rotation of the shackle. If
damaged, do not use. A damaged shackle can indicate that trolley was overloaded. Contact an authorized
Harken INCAR3-TR Trolley Inspector to carry out a more thorough inspection.
B. Inspect shackle pin
Inspect shackle pin for signs of corrosion, cracks or elongation, check the free rotation of the shackle.
Check that the pin is not loose. If damaged, do not use.
C. Inspect body
Check that the body is not deformed or shows signs of corrosion or cracks. Check the legibility of the
marking.
D. Inspect wheels
Check the free sliding and integrity of the four wheels by sliding the trolley on the rail. Check that they do
not show any deformation, traces of corrosion or cracks.
E) Inspect wheel pins
Inspect the wheel studs for signs of corrosion, cracks or deformation. Verify that the pins are not loose. If
damaged, do not use.
F) Inspect rail
Inspect the rail as described in the respective manual.
WARNING!
At the end of the inspection, in case of identified faults, damaged parts, wear, corrosion, deformation,
faults that are detected during the compulsory periodical inspection, a fall with consequent stress for the
trolley has occurred, or doubts about the condition of the product, DO NOT USE the trolley and contact an
authorized Harken INCAR3-TR Trolley Inspector or an authorized Harken Service Center.
