Chapter 2: Installing ProStream X
Setting the device's management IP address
Use the system console to configure the IP address of the device.
1. Connect a monitor to the device's VGA port and a keyboard to a USB port.
2. Connect an AC cord to at least one of the two AC power connectors on the rear of the device.
NOTE:
It is recommended to connect a cord to both AC power connectors on the rear
of the device and to use different power sources.
3. Press the power button on the front panel to turn on the system.
NOTE:
The device is assigned a default IP address 192.168.1.1.
Warning:
When the system boots, the Debug getty login prompt may appear. Do not
log in at this prompt.
Wait for the Harmonic Granite based Penglai VM Distro prompt.
4. At the
VOSX login
prompt, enter the user name
harmonic
and then enter the password
password1!
5. At the
harmonic@VOSX
prompt, configure the static management IP address.
Enter the following:
configip no 10.21.22.XXX 24 10.21.22.1
6. At the
harmonic@VOSX
prompt, enter
showip
to verify that the IP configuration you entered was
successfully applied to the management interface.
7. Open the browser and insert:
http://<device IP>
8. Press
Enter
.
9. Enter the user name
configure
and then enter the password
configure
