Replacing an Ethernet card
a. Grasping the riser assembly with both hands, lower the back end of the riser assembly first,
clearing the LTC connector from the rear panel as you position the riser assembly over the riser
slot.
b. Align the front end of the edge connector on PCI Riser 2 with the corresponding riser slot on the
server board.
NOTE:
The add-in cards installed in PCI Riser 3 may obstruct your view, making it
difficult to align its edge connector with the corresponding riser slot.
Example:
c. Press gently on the back of the riser assembly first, then the front, until both edge connectors are
firmly seated in their riser slots.
IMPORTANT:
If the edge connectors are not aligned properly, lift up the assembly
and attempt to install it again. Do not rock the riser assembly into position. Doing so
may damage the contact pins within the riser slot.
d. Reconnect the internal cable to the front of the LTC card.
