About data security
In order to prevent loss of data, Harmonic recommends that you follow some data security guidelines
when handling a disk drive.
• Each MediaStore contains up to 24 removable disk drives. Disk units are fragile. Handle them with
care, observe static electricity precautions, and keep them away from strong magnetic fields.
•
All
the supplied plug-in modules and blanking plates must be in place for the air to flow correctly
around the MediaStore and also to complete the internal circuitry.
• If you remove any disk drive, you may lose data.
• If you remove a disk drive, replace it immediately. If it is faulty, replace it with a disk drive of the
same type and capacity. For instructions on replacing disk drives, refer to the
Spectrum MediaStore
Component Replacement Guide
.
• Ensure that all disk drives are removed from the MediaStore before attempting to handle or move the
rack installation.
