Note: Even though you can edit the file in the Provision Editor pane, it is not recommended; any
changes you make here are overwritten at the Provisioning.
Distribute the Files
After you provision the files, the final procedure is to distribute the newly provisioned files to the community
devices. Perform these steps:
1.
On the left pane of the Provisioning window, click Distribute. The Distribute dialog box appears
(Figure 4-11) with these three options:
•
Normal Download (only changed files) – Sends only the changed configuration files to the
VistaMax devices. This default option is most commonly used.
•
Forced Download (all files) – Sends every configuration file to the VistaMax devices, replacing all
existing configuration files and causing the selected devices to reset.
•
Local Download - Saves the provisioned files to the admin computer’s hard drive (default location
– the My Documents folder). Each device’s files are saved in separate folders, which are labeled by
each device’s IP address, to back up the configuration files sent to each system device.

2.
Click an option button to select the distribution method.
3.
Click Next.
4.
If you select Local Download, a Save dialog box appears with the My Documents folder as the
default location. You can change the folder location, if needed, and then click Save.
5.
If you select Normal or Force Download, the Select Device Specific Distribution dialog box
appears (Figure 4-12) while VMCC checks that it can communicate with the various community devices.
This dialog box shows the action taken after the files are distributed. To send the files to any device, the
Enable check box must be selected. (Click to select or clear the check box.)
