CAUTION:
ANY REMOTE OR EXTENDED CONTROL CONNECTIONS SHOULD BE
CONNECTED ONLY AFTER THE TRANSMITTER SYSTEM IS CHECKED OUT
AND FULLY OPERATIONAL.
NOTE:
The HDx-FM exciter will not generate HD carriers
unless one of the two fol-
lowing conditions is met:
•
The HDx-FM is properly connected to, and configured for the HDE-100
Exporter and the HD Carriers are ENABLED (this is the recommended
method)
- or -
•
The HD carriers can be internally generated, for initial testing, by turning on
the HD Carriers (
HDx-FM: Output Setup, HD Carriers, ENABLED
), Exgine
input INTERNAL and Exgine Output PATTERN.
It is very important to
note that this HD Test Pattern mode must have Exgine input set to
"Exporter" and Exgine output "NORMAL" for normal HD operation
once the HDE-100 Exporter is properly connected and configured.
2.4.1
General Startup Information
Each transmitter system is thoroughly checked out during factory final test but some
adjustments may be required during installation due to shipping, variations in primary
power, antenna systems, or transmission line differences.
Follow these steps to bring the transmitter system online for the first time.

CAUTION:
IF THERE APPEARS TO BE A MALFUNCTION AT ANY ONE STEP, DO NOT
PROCEED TO THE NEXT STEP UNTIL THERE IS A RESOLUTION TO THE
MALFUNCTION.
STEP 1
If not already done, replace any doors and panels that had been removed
during previous steps
STEP 2
Activate the AC mains source to all equipment
