MAINTENANCE
WARNING:
To avoid serious personal injury, always remove the
battery pack from the tool when cleaning or performing
any maintenance.
WARNING:
Always wear eye protection with side shields marked to
comply with ANSI Z87.1. Failure to do so could result in
objects being thrown into your eyes resulting in possible
serious injury.
WARNING:
When servicing, use only identical replacement parts.
Use of any other parts could create a hazard or cause
product damage.
NOTICE:
Periodically inspect the entire product for damaged,
missing, or loose parts such as screws, nuts, bolts,
caps, etc. Tighten securely all fasteners and caps and
do not operate this product until all missing or damaged
parts are replaced. Please contact customer service or
a qualified service center for assistance.
GENERAL MAINTENANCE
Avoid using solvents when cleaning plastic parts. Most
plastics are susceptible to damage from various types of
commercial solvents and may be damaged by their use. Use
clean cloths to remove dirt, dust, oil, grease, etc.
WARNING:
Do not at any time let brake fluids, gasoline, petroleum-
based products, penetrating oils, etc., come in contact
with plastic parts. Chemicals can damage, weaken or
destroy plastic which could result in serious personal
injury.
REPLACING THE BLADE
See Figure 11.
Replace the blades when they appear worn or when you
notice the edger's performance lessens.
NOTE:
Always wear gloves when handling the blade.
Remove the battery pack.
Remove the hitch pin.
While holding the blade lock button, rotate the blade until
it locks into place.
Use the included blade wrench and turn the blade nut
counterclockwise to loosen.
Remove the cupped washer and the old blade from the
motor shaft.
Clean any debris from the area.
Center the new blade making sure it sits flat on the
housing.
Reinstall the washer and blade nut and finger tighten.
Torque the blade nut down clockwise using a torque
wrench (not provided) to ensure the bolt is properly
tightened. The recommended torque for the blade nut is
5 – 7.25 ft. lbs.
Replace hitch pin to secure.

STORING THE EDGER
NOTE:
Adjusting the handle angle allows for the edger to
be stored vertically. Set handle adjustment so edger handle
is flat.
Remove the battery pack from the edger before storing.
Clean all foreign material from the edger.
Use guard sweep to remove debris around blade.
Store it in a place that is inaccessible to children.
Keep away from corrosive agents such as garden chemi
-
cals and de-icing salts.
The key hole hanger at the back of the handle can be
used to hang the edger.
