ADDITIONAL SAFETY WARNINGS
APPLICATION
1. Use the power tool only for dry sanding.
Penetration of water into the
power tool increases the risk of an electric shock.
2. Sparking occurs when sanding metal materials.
Pay attention that no
persons are put at risk through sparking. Remove any combustible materials in
the vicinity of the work area.
3. Caution, fire hazard! Avoid overheating the object being sanded as well
as the sander.
4. Always empty the dust box before taking breaks.
In unfavorable conditions,
e.g., when sparks emit from sanding metals, sanding debris in the dust box,
micro filter or paper sack (or in the filter sack or filter of the vacuum cleaner)
can self-ignite. Particularly when mixed with remainders of varnish,
polyurethane or other chemical materials and when the sanding debris are hot
after long periods of operation.
5. Sparks emitted from sanding metals may ignite debris that has collected
in the dust box (or vacuum cleaner filter bag).
The sander can be better
controlled with both hands.
6. Always hold the palm grip firmly with one hand and provide a secure
stance while operating the sander.
7. Secure the workpiece.
A workpiece clamped with clamping devices or in a
vice is held more secure than by hand.
8. Keep your workplace clean.
Blends of materials are particularly dangerous.
Dust from light alloys can burn or explode.
9. Never use the power tool with a damaged power cord. Do not touch the
damaged cable and pull the mains plug as soon as the damage is
discovered.
Damaged cords increase the risk of an electric shock.
Intended Use
The HAUSSMANN 1/4 sheet sander is intended for dry sanding of wood, plastic,
metal and filler as well as coated surfaces.
Some examples of these chemicals are:
1) Lead from lead-based paints.
2) Crystalline silica from bricks and cement and other masonry products
3) Arsenic and chromium from chemically treated lumber.
Your risk from these exposures varies, depending on how often you do this type of
work. To reduce your exposure to these chemicals: work in a well ventilated area,
and work with approved safety equipment, and work with approved safety
equipment, such as those dust masks that are specially designed to filter out
microscopic particles.
Read all safety warnings and instructions.
Failure to follow the warnings and instructions may result in electric shock,
fire and/or serious injury.
WARNING!
Must created by power sanding, sawing, grinding, drilling,
and other construction activities, contains chemicals known to cause
many serious diseases such as cancer.
