Features of LFGUY1000 UCL Underwater Lighting Niche

1.  Mounting feet with tie-off holes make it easy to secure to rebar and ensure positive positioning during guniting.

2.  Unique 360° ledge on the integral plaster ring prevents “slumping” during plastering.

3.  Gunite / Plaster shield included with each niche, protects the niche and light mounting arrangement during gunite and plaster application.

4.  The UCL underwater lighting niche minimizes over-dig, wasted concrete, and eliminates additional steel cages.

5.  The UCL underwater lighting niche does not require bonding or grounding per UL Listing and NEC 680.23, for approved low voltage systems.

6.  45° conduit hub, allows 45°, 90° or straight out conduit connection with sweep elbow (included).

7.  The UCL underwater lighting niche can be positioned for 12 o’clock, 3 o’clock, 6 o’clock, or 9 o’clock conduit exit.

8.  Universal ColorLogic/CrystaLogic’s all plastic, 12 volt design with an impact resistant lens, allows this niche to be installed such that the top of

the light lens is no less than 4 inches (10 cm) below normal water level of pool.

9.  The UCL underwater Lighting Niche can be installed in either the wall or the floor of the pool, spa or fountain.

Model LFGUY1000 Underwater Lighting Niche is intended for installation in pools or spas with floors and walls formed of gunite or concrete (shot-

crete) with a concrete reinforced by steel rebar.

Positioning

The base of the UCL niche front to back is 2¾ inches (7 cm).  Position the back of the niche 2¾ inches (7 cm) from the finished pool surface.  The

niche needs to be tied to the steel rebar that is 2¾ inches (7 cm) from the pool surface.  This will ensure that the niche is positioned so that the face

of the niche is flush with the pool wall when the plaster finish has been completed.

The LFGUY1000 should be installed so that the top of the niche is no less than 2½ inches (6½ cm) from the water level (this will insure that the top

of the lens will be no less than 4 inches (10 cm) below the water level).  See diagram below. The niche should be tied to adjacent rebar such that the

niche is tied at four points to sections of rebar.  At the time the niches are installed, it may be necessary to add sections of rebar or move existing

sections to one side or another.

NOTICE: THE NEC REQUIRES THAT THE TOP OF THE LIGHT LENS BE AT LEAST 4 INCHES (10 CM) BELOW THE WATER LEVEL.
