Assembly
Check the horizontal orientation of the base of the polishing machine with a spirit level. Secure
the polishing machine to the base using the holes bored for this purpose.
ATTENTION!
Tighten the securing screws into the polishing machine only until they are secure and
tight enough for the polishing machine not to move during operation.
If the securing screws are too tight and the base is uneven, the polishing machine’s base
plate may break.
First use
ATTENTION
Before you begin with the commissioning on the machines check that all screws, fasten-
ers and fuses are tight. If necessary they must be tightened.
WARNING!
Staff and equipment may be endangered if the polishing machine is first used by an
unexperienced employee.
We do not take responsibility for damage caused by incorrect commissioning.
Power supply
„Power connection“ on page 13
Connect the polishing machine’s mains plug to the power supply. Check the fuse protection of
the power supply against the technical information for the polishing machine’s input power.
CAUTION!
Check the turning direction of the engine of the polishing machines which are equipped
with a CEE 400 V plug.
Due to a wrong turning direction, the polishing wheels may get loose from the driving
shaft. The polishing wheels must turn clockwise (viewed laterally from the left)!
ATTENTION!
For 400V machines: Imperatively make sure that all 3 phases (L1, L2, L3) are connected
correctly.
Most of the defects on motors are resulting from wrong connections. For instance, if a
motor phase is not correctly clamped or connected to the neutral conductor (N)
.
This may cause:
•
That the motor is becoming hot very rapidly
•
Increased motor noises.
•
The motor has no power.
If the machine is wrongly connected the warrantee will become null and void.
INFORMATION
Exchange two of the three phase conductors on the CEE 400 plug if the turing direction does
not correspond to the phase sequence of your rotary current connection.
