C Maintenance
C.1
Preventive maintenance
Regularly scheduled HBM preventive maintenance services that include
cleaning, adjusting, inspection and calibration will help to:
l
Assure that the instrument is available whenever it is needed
l
Maintain optimum performance
l
Avoid expensive unplanned downtime and repair
Also, regularly scheduled maintenance is a predictable expenditure.
Except for the batteries, the instrument is a maintenance
-
free product; no
preventive maintenance is required.
Inspect the instrument's batteries at least twice a year, but preferably every
month. Damaged batteries and batteries with reduced capacity should be
replaced to meet the batteries' specified capacity and consequently the
instrument's specified run
-
time using the battery. The main benefit of this
inspection will result in reliable use of the instrument.
If the instrument has been stored for four weeks or longer, first inspect the
battery before putting the instrument back to use.
How often preventive maintenance needs to be performed depends on your
application, workload, and regulatory requirements.
