b. The secondary function of this button is backlight
enable and disable. If you press it more than two
seconds, the backlight will be turn on and press it
more than 2 seconds again will make the backlight off.
c. In auto selection mode, Hold function of this key has
no effect on them.
4. RANGE Key
a. Range key is the auto/manual measurement key that
acts with trigger. Power-on default is auto measure-
ment, and press one time to switch to the manual
measurement. In manual measurement mode, the
system will jump up one mode for each press untill
the highest mode, then return to the lowest mode as
a loop. If press the key over 2 seconds, the system
will switch back to auto measurement status.
b. In auto selection mode, the key has no effect on them.
5. REL Key
a. This key is the relative value measurement key that
acts with trigger.
b. To press the key when the system is in power on
status, the system will save the display value when
the key is pressed in the memory as the reference
value. When doing the measurement, the display
value will be the difference that the entry value de-
ducts the reference value. That is (current reading) =
entry value/reference value.
c. In Rel measurement status, to press the key again,
the Rel function will be cancelled.
d. In Hold status to press the key, the system will save
the display value in the memory as the reference
value, and release the Hold function at the same time.
When doing the measurement, the display value is
the difference that the entry value deducts the
reference value.
e. In auto selection mode, the key has no effect on them.
6. MAX/MIN Key
a. Press MAX/MIN key to enter MAX mode, it keeps
the maximum measured value all along; press it
once more, it then enters MIN mode and keeps the
minimum measured value.
Press it the third time, it return to the above cycle.
b. It automatically enters manual range after
entering MAX/MIN mode, and REL , HOLD, RANGE
and SELECT will not effect under this mode.
c. It automatically save the maximum or minimum value
upon entering MAX/MIN mode.
d. Auto power-off functions are cancelled after entering
MAX/MIN mode.
e. Press and hold MAX/MIN key more than 2 seconds,
it exits out MAX/MIN mode.
f. In auto selection mode, the key has no effect on them.
3. Add - keys selects the
measurement function
Set the rotary function switch to
“AUTO”
position.
“Add - keys select the measurement function” mode hap
-
pens when “SCAn” appears in the LCD.
Continuously press this key, the Digital Multi meter will
exit the status of auto selection and then enter the spe-
cific measure mode, DCV, ACV, OHM, Diode, Continuity,
Capacity, SCAN can be selected in turn.
DC and AC Voltage measurement
a. Connect the black test lead to

a. Before testing, discharge the capacitor by
shorting its leads together. Use caution in handling
capacitors because they may have a charge on them
of considerable power before discharging.
b. Connect the black test lead to

d. Press REL
key, you can use the relative
function to eliminate the zero error.
e. Connect the probes across capacitor to be

Note: When testing 1000µF capacitor, note that there
will be approx. 15 sec.time lag.
