Inspect and tighten all parts of the elliptical crosstrainer
regularly. Replace any worn parts immediately.
To clean the elliptical crosstrainer, use a damp cloth
and a small amount of mild detergent. Important: To
avoid damage to the console, keep liquids away
from the console and keep the console out of
direct sunlight.
BATTERY REPLACEMENT
If the console display becomes dim, the batteries
should be replaced; most console problems are the
result of low batteries. Refer to assembly step 5 on
page 7 for replacement instructions. The console
requires four “D” batteries.
HOW TO ADJUST THE REED SWITCH
If the console does not display correct feedback, the
reed switch should be adjusted. To do this, you must
first remove the Pedal Legs (13, 14), the right Pedal
Disc (8), and the Side Shields (6, 7). Refer to steps 8
and 9 on page 8 and remove the Pedal Legs.
Next, remove the four Screws (65) from the right
Pedal Disc (8), and remove the Pedal Disc. Remove
all of the Screws (66, 67) from the Right Side Shield
(7) and the two Bolts (90) that were under the Pedal
Disc, and remove the Right Side Shield. Remove all
of the Screws (66) from the Left Side Shield (6) and
remove the Left Side Shield.
Refer to the drawing below and locate the Reed Switch
(77). Loosen, but do not remove, the indicated M4 x
16mm Screw (66). Slide the Reed Switch slightly
toward or away from the Magnet (43) on the flywheel.
Retighten the Screw. Turn the Left Crank Arm (36) for
a moment. Repeat until the console displays correct
feedback. When the Reed Switch is correctly adjusted,
reattach the Side Shields (6, 7), the right Pedal Disc
(8), and the Pedal Legs (13, 14).
HANDGRIP PULSE SENSOR TROUBLESHOOTING
• Avoid moving your hands while using the handgrip
pulse sensor. Excessive movement may interfere
with heart rate readings.
• Do not hold the metal contacts too tightly; doing so
may interfere with heart rate readings.
• For the most accurate heart rate reading, hold the
metal contacts for about 15 seconds.
• For optimal performance of the handgrip pulse sen-
sor, keep the metal contacts clean. The contacts
can be cleaned with a soft cloth—never use alcohol,
abrasives, or chemicals.
