Installation
The Sterling is a sophisticated vented gas
fireplace heater.
Qualified service personnel must
complete installation
. Any attempt by unqualified
personnel to complete venting, gas and electrical
connections and other technical components of the
installation procedure with which he/she is not
familiar and technically qualified may result in an
carbon monoxide poisoning, explosion, fire,
damage or loss of life.
Do not attempt to complete
any part of the installation of this unit unless
technically qualified to do so.

:
Special gas line location is required to
accommodate optional blower fan. Please
consult your authorized Hearthstone Dealer.
When installing the Sterling gas heater the following
items must be considered for a safe and practical
installation:

Electrical Connections (Thermostat)
Venting/Chimney

Gas Supply
Log Placement Within Unit
Hearth Requirements
The floor protection must meet one of the
following criteria.
1. A non-combustible hearth pad with an R-value
of 1.1 and a minimum measurement of 30"W x
16"D. The hearth pad must extend 16" in front of
the stove (measured from the glass).

OTE
:
If the platform is made of combustible
material, it cannot extend further than the
ash lip unless it is protected as in #1 above.
Do not install on vinyl tile or carpeting.
2. Installed on a platform equal to or greater than
7" in height, no floor protection is required.
3. A hearth pad is not required when using the
optional front door screen(item # 95-57200). This
screen must be attached in accordance with the
technical data sheet provided with the screen.
