Traversing datums in tilted axes
The TNC automatically activates the tilted working plane if this
function was enabled when the control was switched off. Then
the TNC moves the axes in the tilted coordinate system when
an axis-direction key is pressed. Position the tool in such a way
that a collision is excluded during the subsequent crossing of the
datums. To scan the reference points you have to deactivate the
"Tilt Working Plane" function,
"Activating manual tilting:", page 545
Danger of collision!
Make sure that the Tilt working plane function is
active in the
MANUAL OPERATION
mode and that the
angle values entered in the menu match the actual
angles of the tilted axis.
Deactivate the "Tilt Working Plane" function before
you cross the reference points. Take care that there
is no collision. Retract the tool from the current
position first, if necessary.
Position display in a tilted system
The positions displayed in the status window
(ACTL.
and
NOML.)
are referenced to the tilted coordinate system.
Limitations on working with the tilting function
The
Actual-position capture
function is not allowed if the Tilt
working plane function is active
PLC positioning (determined by the machine tool builder) is not
possible.
