General conditions for charging:
• Recharging time depends on the state of charge of the battery and lasts for a maximum of 2 hours.
• When the battery is fully-charged the mPack LL charging logic switches off, all LEDs are switched off.
• The battery cannot be overcharged.
Use the instrument holder (A) for the headband and the instrument holder (B) for the S-Frame.
The instrument illumination switches off, when the instrument holder is pressed down. When taking off the
instrument from the holder, the illumination is automatically switched on again.
A direct operation is possible with a HEINE Plug-in transformer for mPack LL or with a HEINE
®
EN50.
During direct operation with the HEINE Plug-in transformer for mPack LL or with the HEINE
®
EN50, the
battery is not being charged.
LED indicators (4) on the HEINE® mPack LL
During charging the LEDs operate sequentially, in use they remain switched on. If the LEDs (4) remain switched
off, the unit is non-operational.
The number of illuminated or sequentially-switched LEDs (4) indicates the state of charge of the battery.
All LEDs illuminated indicate a fully-charged battery. If the yellow LED flashes on and off, the battery must be
recharged.
The mPack LL switches off automatically if the instrument used is defective.
Cleaning and disinfection
Always disconnect from the mains before cleaning.
Only use spray disinfection, immersion in solutions or automated reprocessing are not permitted.
Automated reprocessing and thermal disinfection/sterilisation are not suitable for the device and might cause
damages.
A soft cloth can be used to wipe all surfaces clean. It is possible to wipe with a damp cloth. If a cleanser is
used, it must be approved for use on plastics.
For disinfecting cleaning, alcohol-based surface disinfectants can be used. We recommend the use of
isopropyl alcohol at max 70% concentration.
Check the devices regularly for proper function. Only use the devices when their proper function is
guaranteed.
Maintenance
This product does not require regular maintenance.
Changing the battery:
The Li-ion mPack LL only needs replacement when the battery no longer recharges to give sufficient capacity.
This usually occurs after 3 to 5 years if properly used.
Procedure:
For disconnection of mPack LL remove the plug-in transformer or pull the mPack out of the EN50. Unscrew the lid
screw on the back of the mPack LL and remove the lid. Remove the old battery and disconnect the cord. No tools
are necessary. Insert the new Li-ion mPack LL battery into the mPack so that the label is visible and the battery
cord is directed to the front control (3). Connect the plug of the battery to the printed circuit board. Take care when
closing the lid that the cord is not pinched between lid and body. To close, locate the two pins on the lid in the
cut-outs in the lower half of the housing. Close the lid and tighten the screw. Charge the new Li-ion mPack LL
battery for two hours before use.
The HEINE
®
Li-ion mPack LL battery must be disposed of properly.
