How to Configure the Modem
Short Message Service and Wireless Remote Access are provided by a
common GRPS/GSM wireless access module. Remote access is
interrupted during the transmission of an SMS. A new connection to the
server is automatically established by the wireless access module when the
transmission of a text message is successfully completed.
Access can be established using 1 or 2 SIM cards. If 2 SIM cards are
used, they may belong to different providers in order to ensure network
access if 1 network fails.
The SIM card must first be configured correctly.
The following information is delivered by the network provider.
Up to 2 APNs from a single or different provider(s).
Up to 2 user names and passwords

Configuration of the SIM cards can also be performed via LAA.
To define the APN, proceed as follows:

From the main menu, select
Configuration
.
2.
Select
System
and then
Modem.
3.
Select the
Mode
.
To use 1 SIM card, proceed as follows:

Select
SIM 1
APN
and enter the APN as given by the SMS provider.
5.
Select
User
and enter the user name if necessary.
6.
Select
Pass
and enter the password if necessary.
To use a second SIM card in card holder 2 proceed as follows:

SIM 2
APN
and enter the APN as given by the SMS provider.
8.
Select
User
and enter the user name if necessary.
9.
Select
Pass
and enter the password if necessary.
10.
Select
System
in the
Configuration
menu.
11.
Confirm with
Save & Apply
.
The changes are stored in the data base.
To define the number of SIM cards and their operation mode, proceed as
follows:

In the main menu, select
Configuration
.
2.
Select
System
and then
Modem.
3.
Select
Mode.
Behind the
Mode
item the preset mode is displayed.
