All fire and building regulations must be observed!
Manually adjustable shutters or iris shutters can be used exclusively to adjust sections with different air volumes. Auto
matic volume flow controllers cannot be used, since these negatively affect the controlling of the ventilation unit and
the achievement of a stable operating point and therefore they prevent the proper functioning of the ventilation system.
2.5 Unit insulation
If installed in heated rooms and higher humidity, condensation can occur on the outside of the unit in the outside and
outgoing air area. In this case, water-vapour-tight insulation is to be installed on the surface in this area. Furthermore
the outside and outgoing air ductwork should be insulated sufficiently.
If installed in unheated areas (e.g. frost-protected attic), sufficient insulation must be installed on the outside of the unit.
Otherwise, condensate formation could occur on the casing sides. Frost-proof condensate drainage must be installed,
perhaps with a heater.

Electrical connection
The unit must be fully isolated from the mains power supply before any maintenance and installation work or
before opening the terminal compartment! The electrical connections must be carried out in accordance with
the relevant wiring diagram and must only be carried out by certified electricians. The electrical connection
must be fully isolated until the final assembly!
The unit is equipped with a main switch and an isolator which can be secured against unauthorized switching with a
U-lock.
The relevant standards, safety regulations (e.g. DIN VDE 0100) and the technical connection conditions of the local
electricity supply companies must be observed. An all-pole mains switch / isolator, with a contact opening of at least
3 mm (VDE 0700 T1 7.12.2 / EN 60335-1) must be provided. The main switch and/or isolator can be secured against
unauthorized switching with a U-lock.
If a residual current circuit breaker is installed in the supply line of the fan unit, the residual current circuit breaker must
have the following technical characteristics:
Type A or B with a rated differential current of 30 mA.
The fan unit has a protective conductor current of > 3.5 mA.
ATTENTION:
1. The fan unit is exclusively designed for fixed connection, the connection via plug is not permitted.
2. The PE connection must be executed with 2 wires with min. 1.5 mm² or one 10 mm² wire.

The surface-mounted controller with touchscreen is connected to the unit by means of a 10 m connecting cable. The
electrical connection of the KWL EC ... D Pro / WW takes place directly in the terminal box. If special components are
to be connected, the connections must be made in the terminal box.
