11 Maintenance
Maintenance tasks should be completed according to the schedule below.
Notes
• The preventive maintenance schedule provides recommended minimum requirements. Regulations or physical
conditions at your organization may require maintenance items be performed more frequently, or only by designated
service personnel.
• Before performing maintenance, protect items in freezer from extended exposure to adverse temperature.
• Allow freezer temperature to stabilize at setpoint after performing service or after extended door opening.

Clean the door gaskets, interior, and exterior of the freezer.

Clean the condenser grill.

Replace optional Access Control back-up battery.
ü
Models with chart recorders
Check the back-up battery for the chart recorder after an extended power failure
and change it if necessary, or change the battery if it has been in service for one
year. Refer to the Temperature Chart Recorder Operation and Service Manual.

NOTICE
• Clean the condenser grill regularly. Dust accumulation on the condenser coil will vary based on the environment.
Some environments require quarterly cleaning.
• Some equipment surfaces may be sharp. Take care when cleaning to avoid injury.
Note
During a power failure the monitoring system back-up battery provides power to the monitoring system and power
failure alarm. If the back-up battery is not functioning, the power failure alarm will not be activated and the battery should
be replaced.
