Basic setting for suspension and damping
The adjustment shown here represents a basic
setting. The rider should change the basic setting to
suit the surface and his/her preferences.
It is recommendable to make a note of the basic
setting. This way, it can be used as the starting
point for subsequent, optimised settings and to
safeguard against unintentional changes.

Adjusting the hardness of the spring elements
6.5.1.1
Adjusting the hardness of the steel suspension fork
Figure 18:
Suspension fork setting wheel, example
Use the
setting wheel
on the left-hand
suspension
fork head
to adjust the hardness of the steel
suspension fork. Adjust the hardness of the steel
suspension fork by turning the
setting wheel
in the
plus or minus direction.
The ideal setting in relation to the weight of the rider
has been achieved when the shock absorber
deflects 3 mm under the stationary load of the rider.
If applicable, re-attach the plastic cover after
setting the suspension fork.
Only make the steel suspension fork setting with the
bicycle stationary.
The setting wheel may be located under a plastic
cover on the head of the left-hand shock absorber.
Remove the plastic cover by pulling it off upwards.
